New month. Same regime. Sort of.

In my last blog post I set myself some fairly lofty targets for February. Let me state from the outset that the no drinking during the week plan failed spectacularly and within a matter of hours. I'm fully prepared to accept that I am too weak to deal with a busy family life and the pressure of a financial year end at work without some sort of crutch.

As far as possible I made sure it was a single crutch rather than a double at least.

The only thing that failed more spectacularly than the non-drinking was the goal to run three times a week. Forgive me Brooks and Nike for I have sinned. It has been six weeks since my last constitutional...

But amidst the doom and gloom there was a silver lining to my cloud. Horror of shocks I managed to get a whole heap of writing done. Even better than that there has been a lot of positive feedback from those kind enough to read the stories I submitted so my confidence is growing.

During Feburary I managed to write, panel beat, rewrite, pummel and generally batter into submission the following stories which you can find on a buttery biscuit based writing site near you:-

Safe House - a little slice of sci-fi which follows on from the events in Damaged Goods...

The Water's Edge - the story of a man lying on a beach reflecting on his life. Not everything is as it seems...

A Shaggy Crow Story - the triumphant return of Stormcrow for his third epic adventure. So epic in fact that he can't even be bothered to actually appear in the story until the final act. Be warned there are spectacularly dreadful puns in this piece that can be dangerous to the untrained mind...

The Adamant Carbonisation Of Henry Spiller - an oddity for me. A story where I had the ending before I had the beginning or indeed the slightly bonkers title. This is all about how pressure can affect you at work...

And as if that wasn't enough last night I finished an edit on a post apocalyptic piece of flash fiction called On Arniston Beach and managed to knock together a bit of comedy called Happiness...

OK so it meant I only got four and a half hours sleep but hey...it was fun...
